Department of pediatrics

The integrated department of pediatrics is the only institution providing pediatric inpatient care in the district of Limburg-Weilburg.

Inpatient care is provided by practitioners with cottage-hospital affiliation within the opening hours of their respective practice or after advance notification.

Children, from newborn babies to juveniles, are treated by pediatrists and children's nurses. We are able to diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of childhood diseases, having appropriate equipment at our disposal, such as monitoring devices, infusion apparatuses and incubators.
Of course, the accommodation of a parent during the inpatient stay is possible.

Advised by the organisation 'Die kleinen Patienten' ('the little patients'), the 7th floor of the centre has been beautifully decorated with warm and bright colours, in order to make the little patients forget their pain, which significantly contributes to the healing process.

Inpatient pediatric care

Colours and shapes have been selected by the aforementioned Bonn-based organisation which has already decorated several pediatric centres according to concepts appropriate for children. Yellow and orange, red and blue now are the basic colours of the ward, being positive and soothing at the same time. In short: The children shall fell snug and safe. On the corridor and in the playroom, the children find firmly mounted toys, coloured wooden elements, mini curves and waves beads tables, roll 'n roll toys etc. Attached to the bed is a clipboard for photos of the loved ones at home. In addition, our architects installed many mirrors and mirroring elements whose light reflections are stimulating for the children's senses.

We want to provide a pleasant environment for the children – a contrast to the usual monotony within a hospital.
